Embracing the flow
I’ve spent the last week living out of a motorhome. I decided to venture south of Barcelona with no plan — just me, Bobby, and the open road. If you know me, you know this isn’t my usual style. My entire life has been about discipline, optimization, and goals — pushing forward with purpose, always with a plan. That approach has served me well, but recently, I’ve been exploring a different path.
For a while now, I’ve been following the teachings of Taoism — the idea of “going with the flow” rather than forcing outcomes. It’s a way of moving through life with less resistance, allowing things to unfold naturally rather than trying to bend them to my will. My time in the motorhome was a chance to lean deeper into that mindset — no agenda, no mapped-out routes — just curiosity and a willingness to let things unfold.
And I have to say, it was an incredible experience. I met interesting people, stumbled upon hidden gems, and saw things I would have never planned for. It wasn’t perfect — I’m far from mastering this new way of flowing — but there’s something powerful in surrendering to the unknown and just allowing life to happen.
I’m realizing that maybe it’s not about choosing one way or the other but finding the balance between the two — discipline and flow, structure and spontaneity.
It’s early days, but I’m excited to keep exploring this.
